Are they see-through when wet?

No. They have two layers, so you can't see through them. They won't cling or suck to your body when you get out. You stay covered.

Is the compression liner tight?

No. It feels like a snug boxer brief, not a tight squeeze. It stops chafing and holds you in place. Most guys forget it's even there. It also dries fast, so it won't stay soggy.

What are they made of?

They're built from a 90% polyester / 10% elastane performance blend — the same engineering as high-end athletic and surf gear, not a cotton tee that'd sag and stay wet. The polyester is what dries them in minutes, locks in color through salt and chlorine, and holds their shape season after season. The elastane gives true 4-way stretch. We call it DriftFlex™.
